5. Refresh your skin with skin resurfacing. Spring is the ideal time for an upgraded or intensive exfoliation routine. Dry dead skin cells may naturally fall off, but some stay behind on your skin even after cleansing. This also leads to ted pores and a dull complexion. Exfoliation is the key to glowing skin! Now is time to give your skin a deep breath!
Before the summer comes consider on of these two intensive exfoliating regimes:
1. Mild Intensive Regime - every day for two weeks use either Yonka Gommage or Phytomer Vegetal Peel as directed.
2. Medium Intensive Regime - every night for 30 days use either GM Collin Poly-Acid Peel Serum or Yonka Glyco Night 10% Mask at night. These are leave-on treatments that are highly effective exfoliating and wrinkle treatments.
3. High Intensive Regime - visit us for our Skin Boosting Peel Series for progressive exfoliation and skin rejuvenation.
Once the regime is complete, maintain the results with weekly exfoliation from either of the first two regimes at home.
Please remember that the use of sunscreen is always recommended but after exfoliation it is extremely important to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
6. Wear Sun Protection all of the time. Period. Unless it is dark outside. Click here to find the right one for your skin type.
7. Layer Hydration. Instead of applying a heavy moisturizer, opt to layer hydration using mists and serums under a lighter version of your daily moisturizer. This is especially important if you’re spending more time outdoors and sweating. By layering hydration, you create a lighter moisture barrier that is just as effective.
An on-the-go option, ideal for this season, is GM Collins Hydramucine Treating Mist– which delivers the fast-acting results of a serum through a refreshing mist. Yonka's Hydra 1 Serum is also an excellent hyaluronic based serum that hydrates and supports the skin's moisture barrier but light enough for all skin types.
For the best lighter version of your moisturizer for spring/summer, consult one of our Estheticians.
8. Focus on Antioxidants. Antioxidants can effectively support the skin and protect it from the harmful effects of free radicals created by UV and pollution. They are known glow makers and reducers of sun spots and wrinkles. The most common antioxidants are vitamin A, C, E and niacinamide, which can strengthen the skin barrier and improve its tone. Before introducing an antioxidant, consult with one of our Estheticians to recommend the right one for your skin type. An effective antioxidant is an investment - you want to get it right.
9. Wear effective eye protection. With more sunny days, the brightness can cause more squinting leading to fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area.
10. Temporary Skin Worsening. Skin responds to the changes of season and transitional periods and not always in a good way. It's not uncommon to experience temporary skin worsening during the transition from winter to spring and notice flare ups in acne, eczema and rosacea; have rash and/or dry spots. Several factors can contribute to this, including shifts in weather, environmental allergens and changes in skincare routines. The most important: be patient and support your skin to adapt to the new environmental impact as easily as possible.
We wish you call a happy, healthy, glowing skin this spring!
