On August 1, 1639 , three Augustinian Sisters arrived in Québec City from Dieppe, France. They founded the first hospital in America, north of Mexico. From then on, the Augustinian Sisters cared for the sick and vulnerable, created twelve monastery-hospitals in Quebec and laid the foundation for Quebec's healthcare system. Always aligned with science, they acted as owners, managers, nurses and pharmacists.
During their early history they created a blend of essential oils from plants they grew and used these for remedies and wellness. This blend is still made today and is now simply called 1639. We are inspired by these brave women and their mission for wellness. We have created this special 30 minute treatment incorporating their 1639 blend of plant extracts!
It begins the same way the Augustinian sisters administered to those in their care - with a cleansing foot bath. It continues with the 1639 blend for a massage of the back, feet, hands, neck and scalp.
This treatment can also be booked without a facial for $39.

If you are between the ages of 25 - 65, you might be considering Botox Injections, also known as neuro modulators, to reduce or prevent expression lines. Our Clinical Skin Care team has another option! If you are already getting Botox injections, we also have a way to reduce the need for treatments and extend the life of the injections you do receive.
Neuro modulator injections work by blocking the release of chemical messengers to the nerves that effect your muscles. This means the muscles cannot contract tightly, relaxing and smoothing out the skin. The body slowly regrows the effected nerve endings over three to four months, requiring repeat treatments to maintain results. These injections do not improve the health of the skin. They reduce micro-circulation that is created by muscle contractions resulting a decrease in nutrients to the skin cells in the area.
