Susan Alward

Owner, Master Clinical Esthetician, Electrologist, Laser Technician, Reflexologist

Graduated in 1981 from Edith Serei School of Haute Esthetique in Toronto as an Esthetician and Electrologist. Holds her Master Esthetics license with the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia.

Susan has worked both in Toronto and Halifax before starting The Summit in 1991. Her passion for skin care and the spa industry has taken her around the world studying skin care, body care, holistic healing, reflexology, aromatherapy, advanced pedicuring and makeup artistry. She has trained at the famous Kneipp Institue in Germany for hydrotherapy; with Eve Taylor in London England, Patricia Miller in Canada and Michael Scholes in California for Aromatherapy; and numerous advanced training classes across Canada, France and the US. She regularly attends conferences from Vienna to Vegas to stay up to the minute on the latest advances in the skin care and spa industry. In 1999, Susan furthered her studies in Permanent Hair Removal by completing her training in Laser Hair Removal. She has since taken her second certification training in 2006.In 2009 she completed training in IPL (Intense Pulse Light laser) for vein, rosacea and pigment treatments. Susan has been invited to appear on numerous television programs and at public speaking engagements for skin care, sun protection, aromatherapy and makeup artistry.

In the Spring of 2013 she completed training in Menopausal Skin Concerns & Treatments. In 2013 she also completed an 8 Month advanced training course in Global Skins of Colour. She also attended the education -packed education-packed Conference of Esthetics in Las Vegas in June 2013 where she took several courses in advanced chemical peel procedures for hyperpigmentation and aging skin issues. In March 2014 she attended the 44th Annual Conference of Applied Esthetics in Paris and had another visit and training at the Yonka laboratories. 2014 was a busy year of training as she also had advanced training with Glymed Plus and traveled to Montreal to the GM Collin labs for even more training! Out of all the training came the development of a new and exciting treatment for The Summit - our Signature Skin Transformation Treatment.

Since 2015 Susan has taken more training with Jane Iredale, and Glymed Plus plus many training classes at the International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa Conference in Las Vegas in the summers of 2015 and 2016 . In 2015 she helped in the development of the Summit's Signature Body Bliss with her many years of aromatherapy expertise. In the winter of 2016 she traveled to Montreal to study Thermo-coagulation to be able to remove skin tags and ultra fine facial vessels. Another exciting year for Susan of living her passion - learning and sharing her knowledge of skin care and wellness.

She founded and has owned The Summit since 1991. She works full time providing services to clients and advanced training to staff.

Susan’s specialties are mature, sensitive and rosacea-prone skin, vein removal, permanent hair removal and reflexology.
