Katie started her career studying makeup and fashion arts at Humber College in Toronto. From there she took her Esthetics & Electrolysis course at Medes School of Esthetics in Moncton, NB in 2002.
Katie holds her Master Esthetics License from the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia. She has been shining her star at The Summit since 2002. She was also the Head Trainer at The Summit for many years before she became the Assistant Manager in the fall of 2015.
Over the years, she has completed many advanced skin care courses including Yonka, GM Collins, Glymed Plus, Phytomer, Jane Iredale, Peter Thomas Roth and Skinceuticals. In 2003 Katie completed training in Laser Hair Removal and has taken further laser training in 2006. Katie successfully completed her Clinical Skin Care Certification in 2007. She has also completed advanced training in Brazilian Bikini Waxing, Laser Hair Removal, Photofacials, IPL and Vein Treatments, and Hydrotherapy.
Katie has travelled to the Las Vegas Esthetics Conference on more than one occasion to check out the latest in the skin care industry most recently in the summer of 2015. She spent much of 2013 studying and succesfully completing her 8 month advanced training course in Global Skins of Colour. In the fall of 2014 Katie was invited to Montreal to visit and meet with the developers and chemists behind GM Collin Skin Care as well as take an Advanced Anti Aging seminar with them! Congratulations Katie!
In the winter of 2015 Katie took an advanced training with Zohra Bendouah of Skinceuticals. In early summer she was off again to the International Esthetic Conference in Las Vegas where she attended many training seminars plus received certificate training in "Understanding the Science of Peptides" and "Oxygen Peeling". She was excited to find many new products to bring back to The Summit including more exciting new items from Blinc Cosmetics. She also completed a training course with Blinc.
2016 was a busy year for Katie learning many new skill as our new Assistant Manager. She has managed to extend her development as a Master Clinical Esthetician when she went to Montreal in the winter of 2016 to study and successfully complete her Thermocoagulation training. This skill allows her to successfully remove skin tags and many vascular lesions on the face and upper body.
In the summer of 2017 Katie travelled to Victoria and Sooke, BC to expand her knowledge of seaweed-based skin care with our country's foremost experts.
In the fall of 2018 Katie was excited to travel to Paris, France to tour and learn from the experts in aromatherapy and plant based skin care - Yonka!
2019 started for Katie with an advanced training course and certification with Bend Beauty. She is currently studying the life of Sebastian Kneipp and all things Kneipp! In the spring she will head to Toronto to the ESI Esthetic Conference as well as a training course with Phytomer and a visit to Kaia Naturals.
This very knowledgeable and much loved Esthetician does everything well but her specialty is Acne Treatments as well as Permanent Hair Removal.
